Seven Steps to Personal Success

So what are the ways that you “cheat” yourself out of success? We all do it. We are told time and time again to write down goals and visualize our success – these are very good points to make but there are other steps we need to take in order to complete the journey.  Life is full of hard decisions and sometimes you just have to take a chance to realize success or a sense of fulfillment.

Here is a complete list of seven steps you should make a part of your lifestyle if you want to enjoy the type of success we all envy in others…

  1. Prioritize your actions – Set goals and keep asking yourself if the actions you take today are going to help you achieve your goals in the future. Think of the 80/20 rule – 80% of our successes come from 20% of our actions.
  2. Focus on the next step – Keep moving towards your goals.  Always make sure your next step gets you a little closer to your destination.
  3. Live outside the box – Expand your comfort zone.   Most of the things you want to achieve are just outside the box that we all live in.  Take the plunge and accept the risk – the rewards are bountiful.
  4. Turn off the noise – Shut down the distractions that prevent you from focusing on your goals.  Once you turn off the “noise”, things will become much clearer.
  5. Keep learning – You must continue to be the student in life.  There is just too much knowledge for any one person to comfortably grasp.  Leaders are the best learners.
  6. Conquer tough decisions – It is true that things in life are hard.  Deal with the them head on and things become so much easier to deal with.  The decisions you make play a big role in determining the person you are.
  7. Celebrate successes – Celebrate all successes no matter how big or small.  There is nothing that will drive you more than celebrating the things you have done well or the successes you have accomplished.  Don’t forget, you deserve it.

These are interesting steps for sure. I have found that you definitely have to leave your comfort zone to start to realize some of your dreams or goals.
